Watching couples interact is one of my favorite things to do. Not gonna lie.
Lindsay is an artist. She is feisty, creative and gregarious. All of these things are apparent within moments of meeting her. The first time we meet in a coffee shop I watched Lindsay talk and plan her wedding while Alex laid back in his chair with a soft smile on his face, just watching her. Two very different people who clearly loved and admired one another.
I feel very blessed to have had the privilege of capturing their love and I am so excited for this Fall for the BIG day!!
Here is their story….
“I had just recently graduated from college and my best friend and I were looking for something with which to entertain ourselves for the Memorial Day weekend. We decided not to go far, but spend those first days of summer hanging out with friends on a small lake, just outside of town. It was a common hangout for us and we were anticipating it to be populated by the usual suspects, but upon arrival I noticed there was one face I didn’t recognize, and it belonged to Alex. Well into a sun-filled afternoon, he and I somehow ended up in a heated, albeit friendly, debate about, of all things, engagement rings. I decided my closing argument would end with my admitting I didn’t really even want an engagement ring, but a key ring. He tried calling my bluff, and as I spoke my retort, I could see the impact of each one my words on his face, ”Anyone who wants to marry me will know I want a key ring to a ’70 Chevelle, not a diamond.” With satisfaction, I watched it change from cordial amusement to one of delighted intrigue.
He and I were inseparable for the next couple of months, but as the dog days of summer drew ever more near, I figured I would have to start to come to terms that our relationship would likely end among those weeks known as August. I was moving away for my career and with only dating for a couple of months, who would have expected any more?
Looking back over the past eight years, how we have grown as individuals and as a couple, recognizing how many times the universe fought for us to be together, we could not be more thankful nor feel more blessed to be embarking on the next volume of our story together, as husband and wife. While I do wear a beautiful engagement ring (Alex did recently buy me a big garage!) it will look stunning on the steering wheel of my future muscle car.”
Why hello, Sandra Bullock–I have always wanted to meet you.
Stop it. Both of you. Too much gorgeousness.
Alex, you are a trooper for letting us–um, throw glitter on you. That is ‘real man’ stuff.
